Susanne Czech is a Doctor of Laws from the University of Graz, Austria. In 1994, she entered the Austrian Insurance Association, responsible for International Affairs, a position which she held for over 8 years.

She then moved, in 2002, to the European Insurance Federation in Brussels, representing the common interests of the whole European insurance sector as Head of European Single Market Affairs and, later, also International Affairs.
